The topic of this blog is…passing along your knowledge.
I have watched geniuses…learned people…walk out the door at retirement without ever passing along that which they learned. Oh sure, they did so while working. They mentored. Coached. Helped others along the way. But what about those who come after them…what could they pass along to those people? I say…a lot.
If you are retiring after a long career, you are probably a subject matter expert of some kind. You know things. People would love to know what you know.
So, this is a simple plea to pass along that information and knowledge in some manner that will outlive your career and your life. And a great time to do that is right after you retire.
How you do that is up to you. Create coursework. Write a book. Lecture at local colleges. Mentor graduate students. Become a columnist. There are plenty of ways to pass along what you know…and a large audience out there who will benefit from your wisdom.
If you need help in writing a book or an article…drop me a line. I would be happy to get you started in the right direction at no charge…no strings. I read somewhere that we all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. This is your chance to pay forward the knowledge that was invested in you…and to become those shoulders that help move the world forward.
Good luck and do not hesitate to email me.
